New DVD Discs Releases — September 16, 2014

Why go to the movies when there are plenty of awesome new releases to enjoy in the comfort of your own home? The summer movie season may be coming to an end, but plenty of those movies are hitting the shelves so you can relive the magic. Read on for our guide to the best new DVD releases coming your way in this week of September 16, 2014.

“Godzilla”– Directed by Gareth Edwards. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Bryan Cranston. The world’s most famous monster is pitted against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. 
 


“The Fault in Our Stars” – Directed by Josh Boone. Starring Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Laura Dern. Hazel and Gus are two teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that Hazel’s other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.



“Think Like a Man Too” – Directed by Tim Story. Starring Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union, and Wendi McLendon-Covey. All the couples are back for a wedding in Las Vegas, but plans for a romantic weekend go awry when their various misadventures get them into some compromising situations that threaten to derail the big event. 



“The German Doctor”–Directed by Lucía Puenzo. Starring Àlex Brendemühl, Diego Peretti, and Guillermo Pfening. The true story of an Argentine family who lived with Josef Mengele without knowing his true identity, and of a girl who fell in love with one of the biggest criminals of all time. 



“The Battery” – Directed by Jeremy Gardner. Starring Jeremy Gardner, Adam Cronheim, and Niels Bolle. The personalities of two former baseball players clash as they traverse the rural back roads of a post-plague New England teeming with the undead.
